Former Shooting Stars’s Defender Seyi Ogunsanya Earns UEFA Coaching License

Former Enyimba International defender, Seyi Ogunsanya, has successfully earned the prestigious UEFA Coaching License.

Ogunsanya began his professional career in 1992 with Nigerite FC in Lagos before playing for several top clubs, including First Bank FC, Stationary Stores, Rangers, Shooting Stars, Katsina United, Enyimba International, Sharks, and Dolphins FC. He also had stints abroad with Spartak Moscow (Russia) and Rockford and Rampage FC (Illinois, USA).


His coaching journey began in the United States, where he earned a Youth Soccer Certificate and an Adult License from the US Soccer Association. Ogunsanya later obtained his UEFA C License through M&N Coaching Education under the guidance of Nigerian-born, Japan-based coach Bolarinwa Obalola Kobayashi, a UEFA-licensed coach.

Before moving abroad, Ogunsanya was one of the most respected defenders in the Nigeria Premier Football League. He played a key role in Enyimba’s victory in the 2003 CAF Champions League and the 2004 Super Cup. He was also the captain of the Super Eagles during the 2004 LG Cup.

Ogunsanya is now set to pursue further coaching qualifications as he aims to manage top teams worldwide.
