Samurai League: Maiden Edition End February, As Registration Opens For Second Edition

Sampson Adedeji

The inaugural edition of the Samurai League will come to a halt at the end of this month ( February), 2022 according to the organisers of the league.

The maiden edition of the tournament witnessed a large turnout as 8 clubs battled for honours at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.

The league was organised by M&N Samurai Concept under the leadership of Japan’s based Bolarinwa Obalola otherwise known as Kobayashi.

The objectives of the company are to give room for players at the grassroots to showcase and market their talents to the outside world.

The matches were streamed live for the entire world as scouts within and outside Africa show interest in some of the players that demonstrated outstanding performance in the league.

Six amazing players were selected for trials abroad while some other players have been pencilled down to join professional clubs in Nigeria and other African countries.

According to the organiser, the last rounds of matches will be played by the end of the month.

Meanwhile, the organiser has also opened registration for the interested clubs to start their registration for the second edition of the competition.

The organiser rose from the meeting and agreed that the registration should start in earnest to give room for the participating clubs to prepare adequately for the tournament.

They further suggest that the second edition will start by May 2022 and draw and other logistics would have been put in place ever before then.
